Description

this is a design concept for an upcoming casaul online game... movie poster style... this was designed in 3 stages.. the fullsized 'artwork' poster of the planets and the K-sun I modelled (in povray) and adjusted (in photopshop) back in 2003, for its own sake... then the concept for to-gather-stars (.com heh) came about and I modelled (in povray) the window portal and adjusted it (in photoshop) adding the icy haze to the exterior of the glass. Then just recently I started some modelling (in povray) a ship to be used in various book covers and artwork related to TGS and found it appropriate for this scene... at this point, that ship is far from finished, but its not as easy to tell in silohuette.

The first scene only took a couple hours to produce, the window probably about the same.. the ship I've spent the last week on or so, after regular work hours, of course.

Outstanding! Made me remember the great SciFi covers from my father's 70s scifi books. :)

Excellent piece. I love the colour palette and the lighting is perfect! Good work on the "frame" too!!

Very well done!

i wouldn't call it "outstanding". i'm no physics expert but i doubt that two planets of this size could be that close together (without to crash that is)
to me, the image feels to much "squeezed", because you tried to put everything into this thin frame.

grin... who said they're so close together?
from out perspective, the sun and moon appear to be almost exactly the same size... evidence suggests they're not

Wow. Really cool. It does seem squeezed, but I'd have it no other way. There's alot on a small amount of space and it makes it look cool. Nicely done.
